We all know the swarovski® jewellery, these are jewels made from the best Swarovski crystals to which Swarovski has given a label “SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS” used to make the most beautiful jewels in Swarovski like the jewels SPARK.
Because Swarovski is not originally a jewellery manufacturer but a crystal manufacturer. The production includes very low end crystal that can be found on low priced Chinese imports up to high end, i.e. crystals signed “SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS”. Swarovski is the name of the brand creator who improved the quality and manufacture of the glass crystals that existed long before him. First of all there is the composition of the crystal, very few crystals produced by Swarovski are pure, they are associated with other molecules in order to give the crystal a white, yellow, blue, red color etc… and a depth and more or less colored reflections. For Swarovski crystals it is much simpler, since they are produced to the desired size from the start and reproduced at will. On the other hand, the choice of facets, of their orientation, comes directly from high jewellery and from the size of the precious stones, it answers to the same laws and to the same need to produce the most beautiful effect with the light that comes in or goes out.

In the case of the Swarovski® and the Spark® jewels, the frame is always made of precious metals: from solid 925 silver covered with another precious metal: rhodium. Indeed, a true Swarovski crystal will not be able to give its best reflection on a vulgar steel, 925 solid silver brings the purity of the precious metal and when it is rhodium-plated it does not oxidise. Very often in Swarovski® jewellery and SPARK® jewellery, the play of light is constituted by its transformation inside the swarovski crystal but also by the reflection it will have on the silver that supports it. The light undergoes transformations when it enters the crystal, then partly reflects on the shine of silver and again undergoes transformations inside the crystal.
